Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Salve is an intense pre-shampoo treatment, rich in proteins that targets hair bonds to strengthen and repair from the inside out.

Our hair is made of a keratin structure, which is reinforced by so-called hair bonds. There are 3 types of bonds that make up the hair structure:

- Disulfide bonds, which are damaged by bleach and chemical treatments;

- Salt bonds, which are damaged by sudden pH imbalance;

- Hydrogen bonds, which are damaged by excess of moisture and heat.

Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Salve is a powerful blend of superfoods and fortifying active ingredients that targets all 3 of these bonds to repair, rebuild and restore hair fibre strength. It also provides protection to help against further damage. Balancing protein-rich and moisturizing products in your routine is key to healthy, strong hair. The more damaged and porous your hair is, the more protein-rich products from our Strength Recipes you should use.

HOW TO USE IT

Apply generously on damp hair until it is fully saturated. Leave on for a minimum of 15 minutes, (or up to 30 if you have mid-high porosity hair due to colouring, heat styling or damage). Rinse off thoroughly and follow with your favorite cleanser, conditioner and stylers.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THE BOND CURL REHAB SALVE?
This will depend on your hair’s porosity. To find this out, spray some water on a strand of dry, clean, product-free hair.
• High Porosity: the water will instantly absorb inside the hair. Use every 2-3 wash days for at least 30 minutes
• Medium Porosity: the water will form droplets on the surface of the hair and then absorb inside. Use every 3-4 wash days for at least 20 minutes
• Low Porosity: the water will form droplets on the surface of the hair, without absorbing. Use every 4-5 wash days for at least 15 minutes

Hi, I find that with these types of brands such as curlsmith in order for the treatments to actually work properly you have to detox your hair first and go completely natural and/organic with your haircare. If you are alternating between e.g Olaplex, redken and Curlsmith products 9/10 times you are not reaping the full benefits. I know because I am a severe and recovering product junkie with an entire room dedicated to just hair products. After 15 years of being natural I have now come to the realization that my 4c hair prefers only natural products for it to thrive and look voluminous and the tiny little curls just pop even with no product. I am not an advocate for natural anything in general. Being a pharmacist I believe in things that work. For skincare I would never go anywhere near natural haha! Hope this helps !!

I was hoping for this to repair some of the damage to my hair. I have low porosity fine hair. This did not do anything for me I have tried it twice now. If anything my hair feels frizzer and more stringy. Disappointed

Great protein staple! I have frizzy 2a/2b hair that I have been moisturising beyond comprehension because I thought that would get rid of the frizz. I recently found that my hair might actually be lacking in protein and so purchased this. After the first use I noticed my hair starting to look less frizzy and my wave/curl clumps coming together better. It’s not going to be a quick process after years of heat and bleach damage, but I’m keen to include this as a treatment for my hair once every few weeks to improve my protein moisture balance.
